Statement Of Faith

The Bible

We believe that the whole Bible in the original manuscripts was inspired by God and without error. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is about the Lord Jesus Christ in His person and work and was designed for our practical instruction. (Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 17:2-3; Rom 15:4; 1Cor 2:13; 10:11; 2Tim 3:16-17; 2Peter 1:20-21).

God

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience (Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2Cor 13:14; Heb 1:1-3; Revelations 1:4-6).

Jesus Christ

We believe that as provided and purposed by God and announced in the Bible, the eternal Son of God came into this world to manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end, He was born of a virgin, and received a human body and a sinless human nature. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. We believe that Christ became and remained a perfect man, sinless throughout his life; yet He retained His absolute deity being at the same time very God and very man. (Luke 1:30-35; 2:40; John 1:1-2; 1:1-8; 3:16; Phil 2:5-8; Heb 4:15).

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of the need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. (John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1Cor 2:12; 3:16; 2Cor 3:17; Gal 5:25; Eph. 1:13; 5:18; Romans 8:9).

Angels

We believe that God created an innumerable company of sinless spiritual beings known as angels; whose original purpose was to serve Him and His children. One, “Lucifer, son of the morning” the highest in rank sinned through pride thereby becoming Satan and taking many angels with him who carry out his work in the world. We believe that Satan is the originator of sin. Though believers may resist him, he leads man into sin, and counterfeits the works of God by fostering religious movements and systems of doctrine, which systems in every case are characterized by a denial of the efficacy of the blood of Christ and of salvation by grace alone. (Is.14:12-17; Ezek 28:11-19; 2Peter 2:4; Jude 6; Gen 3; 1Peter 5:8,9; 2Cor.4:3,4; 11:13; Eph 2:2; 6:10-12; 2Thes. 2:4; 1Tim. 4:1-3).

Man and Sin

We believe that man was originally created in the image and after the likeness of God. We believe that man sinned and as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life, and was alienated from God. Apart from divine grace of the convicting work of the Holy Spirit & the Word of God preached and believed, man remains alienated from God. (Gen 1:26, Rom 3:23; 5:12-14, Eph 2:1-6, John 16:7, Rom 10:14).

Salvation

We believe that God’s free gift of forgiveness is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. Our deliverance from sin’s penalty has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and that no degree of morality, ordinance, culture, church attendance or good behavior can help man take one step toward salvation. We believe that God gives and will not take back eternal life for those who trusted in Christ as Savior. (Romans 6:23; Eph 2:8,9; John 1:12; 10:29,30; 14:6; Titus 3:5; John 5:11-13).

Eternity

We believe people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is eternal death and ends in hell. To be eternally in union with Him by grace through faith in Christ is eternal life in heaven. All who trust in Christ are secured eternally by grace alone. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; 3:18; John 10:28-29; Rom 4:16; Rom 6:23; 8:17,18; Rev 20:15; Matt 18:8;25:41,46; Mark 3:29).
